I apologized for the long wait on posting my Portugal/Malta trip because we spent the Thanksgiving week back to Iceland to hunt for the Aurora Borealis! We finally saw it, it was one of the most incredible moments we experienced in our adventures! Wedding season is over so I can spend more time on processing the photos and posting the trip reports 🙂 Please check back for updates, here are some teaser photos:
We arrived at 4:30 am and drove straight to Kirkjufellsfoss for sunrise at 10 am.
Our first night to hunt for the lights, there they are although partially covered by clouds, we claimed success!
Our second night, we didn’t even need to hunt, they were right there on the back of our “backyard” of our log cabin!
We drove down to this church in the middle of nowhere and the Northern Lights went crazy dancing for us!
We had time for a photo of us and the Northern Lights ❤
I was keeping my hope low to see the Northern Lights and told myself that I went back in the winter for the ice cave…of course seeing the Northern Lights is a big plus 🙂
On Thanksgiving Day, the Northern Lights put on an awesome show for us that lasted more than 4 hours and we were asking ourselves…..when should we head back to sleep?
